I’m excited to dance with Mandy’s troupe from downhips studio in their presentation for the  Belly Dance Bizarre this year….. the show is this Saturday October 23rd….

Woo Hoo!  Pretty sure the last time I tried tie-dying was in grade 5.  I can’t remember my finished project from then, but I do remember seeing tubs of dye.  Thanks to *Tulip* you don’t need tubs anymore!

 I got a little kit of 3 dyes, promising to be intense color.  One step they say…which is pretty much true. Pour water into provided bottles of dye powder, glob it on, let sit, wash.

This morning I am discovering little jewels of T-shirts amongst the “noted for next time” projects. but overall I am thrilled with the results.  I’ll post a pic later, and I am SO gonna try this again!

I LOVE Christmas….the season is 2 months long for me (I’m a Ukrainian prairie girl!!)….I dig out the decorations on Nov 15th….I’m almost as bad as the shopping malls…and they stay up til Jan 15th!  My favorite art/craft projects of the season are cookie decorating!  My sister Laurie got me going on elaborate cookie detailing about…… 7 years ago?? My goodness how time zips by!

  This Spring I had to go to Saskatchewan for about a month…and 2 weeks were spent at my cousin Debbie’s gracious offer of her cabin.  One of the most charming things about their decor was the John Deere theme.  Why had I not thought of that before for my Gingerbread herd!  So these are dedicated to Debbie and Rod….and my Dad too…who was a Die Hard John Deere man.

Mid October, Alf’s parent flew out our way for a visit.  We went to the Toronto Minitaure show (1/12th scale doll house miniatures) because, well it’s an awesome show….and Alf’s Mom has been miniaturing for many years.  Alf’s Dad helped us start our kitchen renovations by adding upper cupboards and a new range hood.

 We went to the Stratford festival again this year.   We went to see Tom as Puck.           (I attended the University of Saskatchewan’s Theatre program with him…..ah good times good times….) He was once again…STELLAR!!!

Mandy of DownHips Dance Studio Hosted the “Belly Dance Bizarre”  show…. This year My presentation with Karma was entitled “re-HEARSE-al”  mwah ha ha ha!!

 On September 19th we performed at the Waterloo Royal Medieval Faire!! Very exciting!

 It is one of my favorite events to partake in…..I think I’ve danced at it for the past 7 or 8 years now.  This year Khizmet and Karma were joined by Rhaehana and Bella Luna, and Mandy and Katie from Down Hips studio.  The faire fell on the “International Talk like a Pirate day”!!!  ARRRR
